Why so few Japanese in TIME 100?

Below is my comment on the article of TIME 100, TIME, May 14, 2007.

070514TIMECoverWhy is the number of Japanese talents so few in your TIME 100? Only Shigeru Miyamoto and Shigeaki Watanabe this time again? This is my honest impression and wonder whenever I see your yearly selection of “TIME 100”. In my understanding, it was with good reason that TIME magazine is originated in the U.S.

But this time I could find the right answer to my question in the comment of Richard Stengel, saying that they are selected not because they are the most powerful or popular but are the most influential in the world who change the world and make history. Now I decided that I would not cling to the nationality of Japan that I belong, the power and popularity when I see your TIME 100. Thank you for your right reasoning.
